Which pump.fun traders are worth copying?

Everyone sorts the pump.fun leaderboard by profit. Profit describes what already happened. What you need to know is whether the next trade can be copied at your size, and that takes a different set of questions.

The pump.fun leaderboard answers "who made the most money recently". That is a fine question. It is just not the one you are asking when you copy. You want to know whose next trade you can follow, seconds later, at a fraction of their size, and still come out ahead. Those are different wallets surprisingly often.

Why profit is the wrong first sort

Three things can put a wallet at the top that you cannot copy:

  • One giant trade. A single runner can carry a week. You were not in it, and you cannot be in it now.
  • Being first by a lot. Some wallets are in so early, and so big, that their entry is most of the move. A copier lands above them every time. See what a big first buy does to the price.
  • Open positions. A board that counts unrealised profit can rank a wallet on coins it has not sold yet. That profit can disappear before anyone copies anything. See realised vs unrealised PnL.

Read the columns together

Each leaderboard entry gives you more than one number. Read them as a set:

What you seeWhat to infer
Big profit, few positionsOne or two wins. Hard to copy, easy to miss.
Steady profit, many positionsA process. Your result depends less on one trade.
High on weekly and monthlySomething repeatable, at least recently.
Only on the daily boardA good day. Watch, do not copy yet.
Large followingIts entries may attract followers, which makes them more expensive to copy.

Six filters that hold up

  1. Realised, not combined. Select on profit that was actually sold.
  2. Two windows. Keep wallets that appear on both the weekly and monthly boards. See the three windows.
  3. Many positions. Prefer a wallet with dozens of trades over one with three.
  4. Copyable size. Open a few recent trades on an explorer. If they typically buy far more than the young curve can absorb without a huge jump, your entry will always be well above theirs.
  5. Sells in pieces or all at once? Both can be copied. Pieces are gentler on your exit price, and copypump copies partial sells proportionally.
  6. Holding time you can live with. Some wallets are in and out in minutes, some hold for days. Pick one whose rhythm your balance and nerves can carry.

Red flags that end the search

  • Profit from one coin. Check the top positions. If one line is most of the total, it is a lottery ticket that already paid.
  • Huge first buys on fresh curves, every time. Great for them, expensive for anyone behind them.
  • Sudden change in size. A wallet that was buying small and is now buying ten times more is a different wallet, whatever the name says.
  • The wallet is the dev. Buying coins you created is not a trading record you want to copy.
On the word "insider". We use it to describe a wallet's public track record: in early, out in profit, repeatedly. It says nothing about what the person knows or who they are. None of the traders on the leaderboard has endorsed copypump.

When to stop copying someone

Decide the rule before you start, or you will decide it emotionally later. Some rules that work:

  • Stop after a set number of losing copies in a row.
  • Stop when the wallet falls off both the weekly and monthly boards.
  • Stop when its style changes: much bigger size, much longer holds, different kind of coin.
  • Review once a week, not once an hour.

In copypump, stop copying on a wallet stops new copies and leaves your positions alone, so you can let open trades finish or sell them yourself. The leaderboard is one tap away in the bot, and for the mechanics of setting size and exits, see how to copytrade on pump.fun.

Frequently asked

Who is the best trader to copy on pump.fun?

There is no single answer, and anyone selling one is selling something. The leaderboard changes every day. Look for wallets that show up on both the weekly and monthly boards, with realised profit spread over many positions, and a trade size you can copy at a fraction.

Should I copy the number one wallet on the leaderboard?

Not by default. Rank one is often one enormous trade that you cannot copy after the fact. A wallet in the top twenty with steady realised profit over many positions is usually the better candidate.

How many wallets should I copy?

Start with one or two. Active pump.fun wallets can trade many times a day, and each copied trade uses your per-trade amount. Add more once you know how many trades a week your balance can carry.

When should I stop copying a wallet?

Set the rule before you start. For example: stop after a set number of losing copies in a row, or when the wallet drops off both the weekly and monthly boards, or when its trade style changes, such as much bigger size or much longer holds.

Stop being the exit. Copytrade the insiders.

Pick a wallet from the public pump.fun leaderboard, set your size and a cap, and every buy and sell they make is copied to your wallet.
