Is copypump safe?
We make the product, so treat this page accordingly. We have tried to answer the three questions people actually mean, including the parts that are not reassuring, and to point at things you can check yourself.
"Is it safe?" is really three questions. Can I get my money out? What can the bot do with my wallet? Can I lose money trading? The answers are different, and only one of them is fully reassuring.
What copypump is
copypump is a Telegram bot that copies wallets from the public pump.fun leaderboard, or any Solana wallet you paste, into a wallet of your own. It is Solana only. It is an independent product: not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by pump.fun, and none of the traders it lets you copy has endorsed it.
What the bot can do with your wallet
When you first set up funding, copypump creates an embedded wallet tied to your Telegram account, using Privy, a wallet infrastructure provider. copypump holds a permission to sign transactions on that wallet. That is what lets it copy a trade at 4am while your phone is off.
Be clear-eyed about what that means: you are trusting copypump's systems with trading permission on the funds in that wallet. Two things keep you in control:
- You can export the private key. From the bot, at any time. The key opens in a Privy window, and copypump never sees it. With the key, you can use the wallet from any Solana wallet app, with or without copypump. See exporting your copypump private key.
- You choose where withdrawals go. Withdrawals go to the address you enter, and there is no copypump fee on them.
Can you get your money out?
Yes, two ways:
- Through the bot.
/withdrawsends USDC to an address you choose, or sends tokens as they are to a Solana address. The minimum is $1. See how to withdraw from copypump. - Without the bot. Export the private key and move funds with any Solana wallet.
A good first test: deposit a small amount, withdraw part of it, and check the transaction on a Solana explorer. It takes a few minutes and tells you more than any review.
Can you lose money?
Yes. This is the part that is not reassuring, and it should not be:
- Most pump.fun coins go to zero. That is the base rate, not a warning label.
- You land after the wallet you copy. Copies happen within seconds, not at the same moment, and on a bonding curve every buy ahead of you raises your price.
- Past performance says nothing about the next trade. A wallet at the top of the leaderboard this week can lose next week.
- Copies can be skipped. Your own filters, your balance or market conditions can mean a trade is not copied. See why a copy trade was skipped.
What we do to limit the damage
- Sizing is yours: a fixed amount per trade, or a percentage of the wallet's trade with a hard cap.
- Sells are copied proportionally, so you are not left holding what the wallet already sold.
- You can add take profit and stop loss levels, a maximum number of open positions, market cap limits and more.
- Stop copying is one button, and sell everything is another.
- The fee is shown before you start copying. No subscription.
The short version
copypump gives you a wallet you can export and withdraw from, with trading permission held by the bot so it can copy while you are away. The trading itself is high risk, and nothing about copying changes that. Start small, test a withdrawal, and only trade what you can afford to lose.
Frequently asked
Can copypump take my funds?
copypump has permission to sign trades on your embedded wallet, which is how copies happen while you are offline. You can export the private key from the bot and withdraw to any address at any time. You are trusting copypump's systems with trading permission, and you should size your balance with that in mind.
Can I get my money out?
Yes. /withdraw sends USDC to an address you choose, and you can also send tokens as they are to a Solana address. The minimum is $1 and copypump charges no fee on withdrawals. If you would rather not use the bot at all, export the private key and move funds with any Solana wallet.
Can I lose money?
Yes, and quickly. Memecoins are extremely volatile, most pump.fun coins go to zero, and copied trades land after the wallet you copy, at a worse price. Only put in what you can afford to lose in full.
Is copypump affiliated with pump.fun?
No. copypump is an independent product. It reads public on-chain data and pump.fun's public leaderboard. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by pump.fun, and the traders on the leaderboard have not endorsed it.
Stop being the exit. Copytrade the insiders.
Pick a wallet from the public pump.fun leaderboard, set your size and a cap, and every buy and sell they make is copied to your wallet.
