How to track a pump.fun wallet in real time
Tracking a pump.fun wallet is not about access. Everything is public. It is about how soon you find out, and on a bonding curve the difference between seconds and minutes is most of the trade.
Everything a pump.fun wallet does is public the moment it happens. Tracking one is not a question of access. It is a question of how soon you learn about each trade, and whether you learn about all of them, including the sells.
First, the address
A tracker watches a wallet, not a name. On pump.fun, leaderboard entries and profiles are wallets, so this part is easy. If you only have a username, see how to find a pump.fun wallet address. Check the full address before you track it. Lookalike addresses exist.
Second, the moment, and what it is worth
There are three ways to watch, and they are far apart in time:
| Method | How it works | Delay |
|---|---|---|
| Refreshing an explorer | You open the wallet page and look | Minutes, or never |
| A tracker site or app | It watches for you and pushes an alert | Seconds to minutes |
| Subscribing to the chain | Your own connection to a Solana node, listening for the wallet's transactions | Seconds |
Why it matters: on a bonding curve, every buy raises the price for the next buyer, and the rise is steepest on young coins. We work through it in what a big first buy does to the price. Learning about a buy two minutes late is not a small delay on pump.fun. It can be the entire move.
What a tracker has to get right
If you build your own, or judge someone else's, these are the hard parts:
- Decode every venue. A coin trades on the bonding curve, then on a pool after migration, and trades can arrive through aggregators. A tracker that only reads one of those will miss trades silently.
- Tell buys from sells, and measure sells. "Sold" is not enough. Did the wallet sell 10% or all of it? That fraction is what a copy needs.
- Ignore failed transactions. Failed trades still appear on-chain. A tracker that counts them reports trades that never happened.
- Stay connected. Connections to nodes drop. A tracker has to notice, reconnect and catch up, or it goes quiet without telling you.
- Deduplicate. The same transaction can be reported more than once. Alerting twice, or copying twice, is a real bug.
What tracking does not give you
- The reason. You see what the wallet did, never why. Is it a trade, a test, a transfer to another of its wallets?
- Their price. By the time you act on an alert, the price has moved. Tracking tells you what happened. It cannot put you where they were.
- Their other wallets. A trader can run several. You see the one you track.
- Sleep. An alert at 4am is only useful if you act on it at 4am.
That last point is why tracking and copying are different tools. In copypump, /alerts watches any wallet and messages you when it trades, if you want to decide yourself. Copying does the acting too: buys and sells, sized to you, while you are away. For the second, see how to copytrade on pump.fun.
Frequently asked
How do I get alerts when a pump.fun wallet buys?
You need something watching the wallet for you: a wallet tracker, a script subscribed to the chain, or a bot. In copypump, /alerts watches any wallet and messages you in Telegram when it trades, without copying anything.
Is tracking someone's wallet allowed?
Solana transactions are public by design. Reading them is what explorers, analytics sites and trackers do all day. Tracking a wallet does not give you any access to it.
How fast can a tracker be?
A tracker subscribed to the chain can see a trade within seconds of it landing. Refreshing a page by hand is minutes behind at best, and nothing at all while you sleep.
Why did my tracker miss a trade?
Usually because the trade went through a route the tracker does not decode, such as an aggregator or a new program, or because the connection dropped. Good trackers decode every venue a coin can trade on and reconnect on their own.
Or skip the plumbing. We already run it.
copypump watches the chain for the wallets you pick. Get alerts only, or copy their buys and sells into your own wallet at your size.
